Natural and secluded - Playa Nogales

— This is one of Kike Navarro's favourite beaches on the island.

He had wanted to photograph it for a long time, but the footpath was being repaired and was closed when he was there.

Luckily, he had his drone with him and searched for an unusual frame while flying.

The beach of Nogales in the municipality of Puntallana is a long and narrow black sand beach, behind which rises a steep rocky coast. It is popular with surfers because of its good waves. In Kike's photo, you can clearly see one of these waves moving towards the shore. When swimming, great caution is advised not only because of the waves, but also because of strong currents.

In the past, this beach was only accessible by boat and was therefore visited by birds and sea turtles. The turtles came there every year to lay their eggs. Since the footpath was built, they no longer come.

The narrow path leading down through the rocky terrain is clearly visible in the picture.

We follow the well marked "sendero autoguiada" past the environmental sensitive area of the Las Nieves, the laurel forest in the area of Puntellana, in the northwest of the island.
