Very popular are Tasca tapas (delicious snacks), seafront fish & seafood restaurants as well as "Parrillas" with specialties from the grill.

La Palma - a fertile garden

Besides the native Flora there are lots of imported and introduced plant species like the almond- and chestnut tree and hardly to overlook - the banana plant.

Far out in the Atlantic Ocean on the Canary Island plants have survived unlike at other places in the world, some even became extinct during the ice age.

Whether you find yourself on the south or north side of La Palma, the vegetation varies at different places and altitudes.

La Palma is the north-westernmost of all archipelagos, situated far in the Atlantic Ocean. And although it may not appear so at a first glance, La Palma has a species-rich fauna.

Partially some endemic subspecies have developed, which only exist on the Canaries and some of them only on a particular island and even in a very restricted area.
