Road Closure LP-3 from March 3rd to March 5th – East–West Connection Affected

From 3 March to 4 March, the LP-3 road between the upper tunnel and the lower tunnel will be resurfaced.

During this time, it will not be possible to drive to the west side through the upper tunnel.

Access via the LP-301 (Refugio El Pilar – El Paso) will also be unavailable during this period.

After a complete closure was initially announced, there is now updated information:

a system with alternating traffic flow will be set up in the tunnel. Traffic will be regulated there by traffic lights and by personnel. Drive carefully and be sure to observe the speed limits and signs.

This is much more pleasant than the longer drive across the south of the island.

Nevertheless, please expect possible delays during this period and allow for a little extra travel time if necessary.
