Restaurants auf La Palma: El Paso - Restaurant Perla Negra

Unremarkable from outside - in the curve at the lower village entrance of the small town El Paso - the restaurant has been located since 2013.
Don't be deterred by the busy street, in the small lane near the tourist office you always find a free parking space.
Once you arrived at the restaurant there is a small terrace, a lovely foyer with a sofa and useful information for tourists as well as a dining room, where you can make yourself comfortable and enjoy a delicious dinner.
You can tell, that this restaurant is managed by its owners: service and food highly appeal to their guests.
The Palmerian restaurant manager from Santa Cruz and her husband and cook, the German Carsten Kröger, previously lived on the east side of the island. Both worked at the Hotel Hacienda San Jorge, he as a cook and she as a receptionist.
From Starters to Desserts - everything is Homemade
International and Mediterranean dishes are served as well as a selection of vegetarian food.
Local suppliers deliver fresh fruits and vegetable from the island. Besides the permanent menu Carsten creates a weekly menu, which changes according to seasonal availability.
He loves to combine opposite tastes, for example "sweet" and "hot" or "bitter" - which you can find for instance in the Beetroot Carpaccio with Orange Vinaigrette.
