Los Tilos

Nestled in the midst of the laurel forest you find this lovingly managed restaurant. 

About 30 years ago, Don Demetrio installed a small, meanwhile expanded restaurant.

It is part of the Ayuntamiento and has been operated by the open minded Juana Rodríguez Afonso for many years.

Guests are welcome as from 10.00 a.m.

Day trippers, who come by their own car find a very close parking area.  

The almost flat path leads up to the forest terrace with rustic wooden benches and tables.

Thanks to the well-conceived construction, people in the wheelchair or those who have problems with their legs can comfortably take a seat.

You can also enjoy a table inside. Especially on cool winter days the fireplace creates a warm atmoshphere.

The lucid menu includes delicious Canary dishes for every taste

There are meat, fish, goat cheese, yams, salads, stews and homemade desserts.  

Juana cooks personally every day. Her specialities are fried rabbit with onions and rabbit in sauce. One of her own inventions are „papas agradecidas“. First they were offered as a typical Tapa, delicious when served with a glass of wine. Later, due to the increasing demand they have become a core element of the menu.

Friendly Jessica assists Juana in the service and during high season another cook helps in the kitchen. 

There is no wireless internet offered in the Restaurante Casa Demetrio and loud music neither. However, what you can hear are the wonderful sounds of chaffinches, blackbirds, bluetits and other singing birds as well as the cries of the laurel pigeon. Native chaffinches are great to observe and they know Juana already very well.

The restaurant is a perfect place to visit after a hiking tour through the Los Tilos forest and to enjoy delicious food or simply a coffee with a cake or a glass of wine.
