From the mountains down to the sea the approximately 2000 inhabitants of Puntagorda spread over four districts, whereupon the main points are El Pino and El Pinar.

This centre of Puntagorda is nestled between green hills and flowering gardens at a height of 600 meters.

There you find all important buildings and facilities like the town hall, post office, bank, the new church „San Mauro Abad“, the health care centre, shops and the municipal landmark, the Canary pine tree"Pino de la Virgen“, whose mighty trunk shelters an image of the Madonna.

Several bars and restaurants invite the visitor to linger.

This place, just like the districts Fagundo and El Roque, in many ways has preserved its traditional rural life.

During a walk in the peaceful surroundings there is a lot to discover: cisterns, wine presses, bodegas, threshing areas, springs, washing areas two Gofio mills and typical small country homes. Still agriculture and cattle farming represent the major source of income for the 'puntagorder@s'.

A network of well marked paths allow interested visitors to experience the region
