Small and big meals, desserts, cakes - all homemade, served in a marvellous surrounding.

The small Village El Castillo is located in the north-west of the Island, about 6km from Las Tricias

Surrounded by beautiful nature, Dorit Köhler-Eobald and her husband have found a lovely place, where they can live and at the same time serve their guests.

With loving attention to the detail, the couple runs Tasca already since summer 2008.

If the weather is kind, the nicely arranged garden is the perfect space to enjoy open-air dining or a simply a piece of homemade cake.

Guests can make themselves comfortable on the flower-decked terrace in front of the house or choose one of the sitting areas distributed over the property.

Pillows and flowers at the tables create a true feel-well-ambience.

From the small wooden terrace you can spot almond trees and enjoy a view down to the Atlantic Ocean.

On cooler days the cosy guest room with a wood-fired oven invites to linger.

Dorit and Eo change shift in the kitchen, a waitron assists them. The friendliness of their team makes guests feel like home.

Ingredients for freshly prepared dishes almost entirely come from local farms and suppliers.

Organic products are given preference and are bought either directly from producers or at the farmers market in Puntagorda.

Homemade Chutneys, Chilli Oil and Blends of Spices give Dishes a creative and invididual Touch

Seasonal offerings extend the permanent menu of Tasca El Castillo providing frequently changing dishes like Pasta with fennel, pumpkin vegetables and Parmesan Cheese.

A classic dishes of the tasty cuisine are a beef rissoles and a spicy curry.

However, also vegetarians and vegans, besides crispy salads with organic herbs, at least they find one main dish. In case of doubt simply call the restaurant before hand.

A cup of coffee or enjoying delicious treats like Philadelphia cake or Amaretto creme with berries after your meal make a grand finale.

The choice of drinks is not a typical Palmerian one, as from the wines of the island there is only the white wine from Vega Norte  on the menu.

Other fine wines originate from Spanish cultivation areas in Rioja and Ribera del Duero. However you can also order a Campari-Orange, beer with elderberry (alcohol-free).

For a long time El Castillo had been a dead village. However, during the past years along with Dorit and Eo a number of nature lovers have settled here.

At 850 meters altitude fruits, wine and vegetables are cultivated. Especially during the time of the Almond blossoming in January/February this region enchants its visitors.

But also for the remaining months of the year, away from noise and traffic pollution you can enjoy beautiful hiking tours and let yourself pamper in the Tasca El Castillo.

Another attraction nearby is the highest mountain of the island, the Roque de Los Muchachos, which you can reach from El Castillo by taking as short detour.
