La Panadería is a detached Holiday House situated on a 900m2 property, off the road, in Tijarafe.

The circular island hiking loop, which also connects Tijarafe with Puntagorda, passes right in front of the Holiday House.

This trail also takes you in about 20 walking minutes to the centre of Tijarafe.

The old bakery - an extensively renovated landmarked building


More than 50 years ago the Holiday Home La Panadería (engl. bakery) housed a baker’s shop.

Back to the 70’s the present road towards the north did not exist and people passed by with their mules to buy baked goods.

The landmarked and historic house was extensively restored and renovated.

At the moment only the 110m2 middle part of the house is available for guests. The lower part of the building remains closed and is going to be gradually renovated.


The Holiday House sleeps up to 4 persons and, if desired, two children can be accommodated on the sofa bed in the living room.

A large foyer is the entrance area and provides access to all other rooms.

The separate living room has a large sofa corner and a sofa bed.

Large Gullotine windows flood the interior with daylight.


The owners made a concious decision against  television. They want their guests to enjoy the unspoilt nature by day and the starry sky at night.

A WLAN internet access is available.

However, if you still feel like watching a movie you can do this via the internet.

A large bookshelf provides you with plenty of holiday reading and information about the island.


The two bedrooms feature high-quality mattresses and bed linens.


The double bedroom provides direct access to the living room and the second bedroom has two single beds.

For cooler winter days electric radiators as well as duvets are available.


In summer temperatures are mostly very pleasant. The double bedroom is the only room that heats up at high temperatures, which is why it features an air condition.


The other bedroom is facing the rear side of the house, where a natural stone wall that provides cooling.


You also enjoy a spacious blue tiled bathroom with a walk-in shower and a toilet.

The well equipped kitchen features a natural stone wall.

In front of the kitchen there is a dining table with 4 chairs.

Outdoor Area


The kitchen provides direct access to the terrace.

A large table makes you enjoy a cosy outdoor atmosphere and provides you with a gorgeous view of the sea and the  Barranco Cueva Grande.

The small, roofed barbecue area is ideal to prepare fresh lunch. There is a second bathroom outside with a shower and a toilet.


A staircase takes you to the roof terrace from where you enjoy a terrific view of the sea by day and a starry sky by night.


On request guests are provided with a table tennis table.

Please inform us, if you like to use it, as it is stored in a separate room, where it is not currently exposed to the weather.

Accommodation not suitable for people with reduced mobility.

The surrounding area offers many attractions.

You find for example the pirate cove above Tijarafe or the driveway to the Roque de los Muchachos with many hiking trails.


Several  points along the coast provide direct sea access via a staircase, like for instance in Prois de Tijarafe or below Puntagorda.

In summer Playa de la Veta is a great place for bathing as well as Playa Garome, although you have to be aware of changing weather conditions and waves.

The wild coves and beaches are accessible with your rental car, followed by walk down steep descents.

The large protected sandy beach of Tazacorte is located within 20 driving minutes and Los Llanos, the largest town on the west side, approx. 30 minutes.

There you also find larger supermarkets, many shops, bars and restaurants.

Closest shopping facilities are in Tijarafe, where you find a supermarket, a whole food store and other small shops

There is also a good pizza restaurant and various bars as well as a Kiosko (snack stand) for a coffee or  in between meals.

Another 10 driving minutes fromTijarafe you reach the village of Puntagorda, where a market takes place on Saturdays and Sundays.

Between Tijarafe and Puntagorda  we recommend the viewpoint restaurant La Muralla serving a good Canary and international Cuisine.

In El Jesús, between Arecida and the centre of Tijarafe there is also the Cervecería Isla Verde, famous for its local Tapas and the home-brewed beer.

CAUTION: The last meters up  to the Holiday House you have to drive on a unpaved road.
